As the seasons shift and days grow shorter remember the importance of staying motivated.
I get it; the allure of cosy evenings and shorter days can make it tempting to slip on our health and wellness commitments.
But here's the deal: consistency is the name of the game, and your well-being is worth the effort.
Here are four simple strategies to keep your motivation:
Set Small, Achievable Goals: Whether it's a specific weight, a running distance, or moving up a Pilates level, having clear, achievable goals keeps you focused. Break these goals into smaller, manageable steps so you can track your progress and celebrate those wins along the way. Create a list and check them off each time you achieve one!
Embrace Variety: The changing seasons are a perfect time to shake up your routine. Try new activities, explore different workout classes, try a 1 or 2:1 with one of the Health Partners, book a session with Debs to discuss diet or any other things you’d like to address for your health and well-being, or experiment with seasonal recipes to keep things fresh and exciting, we try and offer one each week in the Newsletter. Variety not only prevents boredom but also challenges your body in new ways.
Morning Movement Rituals: With shorter days, it's easy to feel like you have less time. Establishing a morning movement ritual, even if it's just 10 minutes of stretching or a quick walk, sets a positive tone for the day and ensures you prioritise your well-being before the day's demands kick in. When you go for a walk add some weight to a back pack or carry the weight along with you to add that little extra…I’m currently carrying 10kg and am looking to work my way up to 20kg by Christmas.
Find an Accountability Buddy: Sharing your goals with a workout partner can significantly boost your motivation. You're less likely to hit the snooze button when you know someone's waiting for you, and you'll have the support and encouragement needed to power through. We have lots of really great people that come to Real and I find talking to any of them gives me an extra spring in my step especially before a class when I’m not that motivated or after when I’m feeling a bit tired.
These tips will hopefully put energy toward consistent progress.
However, sometimes we need a little extra guidance and support. And if this season has been a challenge to deal with alone, consider getting some support from Az, Debs, Oxana, Sian or Lucy. It's a great way to get some personalised coaching, expert guidance, and unwavering support.
Remember, the change of seasons is an opportunity for renewal and growth.
Keep your health and fitness goals at the forefront of your mind, and don't let the shorter days knock you off track. With clear goals, variety, a morning movement ritual, and a dose of accountability, you can maintain your motivation and continue your journey to wellness.
Stay motivated, stay committed, and keep reaching for those goals!
